Our Palate to Palette series continues to inspire unique connections between wine and art while supporting the work of local artists. From Saturday, June 8th to Friday, August 31st, you can visit the Muscardini Cellars tasting room to view our Summer artist’s work in residence for Esther Traugot and her “Saudade” exhibition that will be on display in the tasting room.

Exploring a personal relationship with nature, Traugot’s paintings source from her experience growing up very close to nature in the back-to-the-land movement of the 1970s. Using a variety of materials, from layers of wax, pigments, oil on canvas, watercolor on paper, she implements elements of memory and place, solid form and fragments of people, integrating into landscapes with fields, flowers and trees to convey spaces both atmospheric and ominous. This body of work has been an ongoing exploration of what she has experienced as the contradictions of utopic idealism and realities of living on the edges of the modern world. Hinting at narratives both personal and universal, Traugot’s aim is to convey a particular view of seeing oneself as part of the natural world.

On Saturday, June 8th, from 2-3PM, we invite you to join us for an exhibition opening and artful conversation with featured local artist Esther Traugot. Light charcuterie will be provided and Muscardini Cellars wine will be available for purchase.

You can view more information about the artist and view her portfolio here.
