2020 Sangiovese, Pauli Ranch Vineyards

Like the best from Italy, this wine is produced with the Sangiovese Grosso clone from Pauli Ranch. With a lovely dark red hue, the wine opens up with aromas of ripe red berries, dark fruits, mocha, fresh herbs, and savory spices.  On the palate, robust notes of dark cherry, cranberry, plum and raspberry are accented with lively hints of cinnamon, clove, and roasted nuts.  Together, these ripe flavors are balanced with a lush texture, silky tannins, bright acidity, firm structure, and a long, rewarding finish.  A true gem from a vineyard with integrity and a true sense of place. 

Pairs well with pecorino romano cheese, prosciutto pizza, roasted chicken with fresh herbs, and rosemary braised lamb shank.
